Slinger RDA hears project updates; creamery razed and rezoning planned

Village Administrator Margaret Wilber updated the Slinger Redevelopment Authority on April 1 on several local projects moving forward in the redevelopment district.
Wilber said The Apex at 119 Kettle Moraine Drive South is on schedule but the developer has indicated a potential commercial tenant may want the entire first floor, which would move a handicap-accessible unit originally proposed for the first floor to another level. She also reported that the old creamery at 100 Storck Street has been razed; although the court did not find the property owner in contempt for delays, staff are proceeding to rezone the parcel to VC‑D (Village Center‑Downtown) to align it with the redevelopment district.
Wilber said the Slinger Historical Museum (414 Kettle Moraine Drive South) had initial building plans reviewed by inspections but is making changes and still hopes to begin construction this spring. She also noted the Slinger Community Library received a grant to install a story walk along the Ice Age Trail near Community Park in partnership with the Trail Association and Slinger High School students. Finally, she reported the Kettle Moraine Playhouse’s sewer problem has been fixed. The RDA approved the March 4, 2026 minutes earlier in the meeting and adjourned at 8:11 a.m.
