Pickleball court egging prompts board discussion; members to await Cliff's follow-up

During old business at the July 9 Peru Parks Board meeting, the chair relayed a complaint from Barb Townsend that someone had thrown eggs onto the pickleball court and asked whether the board could improve checks or install monitoring.
"She wanted to know if there was anything we can do with perhaps changing how this is checked on," the chair said, describing the complaint and asking members for suggestions. Board members noted the difficulty of monitoring courts used early in the morning before staff arrive and questioned whether the incidents were vandalism or prank behavior.
One member pointed out that a nearby resident, Ernie Taylor, has cameras and suggested the cameras might provide evidence. The chair and others agreed they would wait for Cliff to follow up on prior emails about canopy information and related site security, and that the matter should be revisited when Cliff can respond.
No formal action, motion or vote was taken on security or camera installation at the July 9 meeting. The board moved on to other items and will include Cliff's response on the next meeting's agenda.
