Temple commission plans Schoolhouse Meadow planting, opts for native-only plants

The Temple Conservation Commission set a Schoolhouse Meadow Garden planting day during its May 13 meeting, initially choosing June 20 at 10 a.m., and asked Vice Chair Sean Radcliffe to post a volunteer call on Facebook. An editor's note in the minutes records that a scheduling conflict arose after the meeting and that the commission will select a new date at the June meeting.
Members said they had ordered wildflower plugs from Native Plant Trust and that they would not accept plant donations from the public, explaining the desire to concentrate on native species. Clay Lennartz said he will follow up with an arborist about arranging a load of wood chips for the site.
No formal budget vote or volunteer-signup was completed at the meeting; members assigned outreach and logistics tasks and deferred final scheduling to the next meeting.
