Temple commission approves up to $500 for turbidity testing at Barry Property

At the May 13 meeting, Treasurer Mike Madden reported he submitted a letter to the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Waste Management division raising concerns about the Barry Property and is awaiting a response. Madden said the Wilton Conservation Commission will also submit a letter and will monitor turbidity downstream.
NHDES staff suggested baseline water testing, prompting Beth Preston to move that Mike Madden and Vice Chair Sean Radcliffe find a contractor to perform appropriate turbidity testing and spend up to $500 for the work. Clay Lennartz seconded the motion and the commission voted unanimously in favor.
Commissioners said they will coordinate with local partners when selecting a contractor; Sean Radcliffe said he would ask Moosewood Ecological for recommendations and Mike Madden said he would contact SoRLAC. The motion authorized limited spending to secure baseline turbidity data; the commission did not adopt a longer-term monitoring plan at the meeting.
