Volunteer group offers $20 insulating window inserts; town to publicize program

Mike Mayo, representing The Window Dressers volunteer project, presented sample insulating window inserts to the Cushing Selectmen on March 23 and asked the town to share program information with residents.
Mayo said volunteers measure windows in advance and produce labeled, custom inserts; he cited an estimated cost of about $20 for an average window and projected energy savings of 10–25% each season. He added that 23% of the inserts produced by the program are provided free to low‑income households and that production begins in September after measurements are taken in the summer.
Selectman Laurie Haynes said the town could distribute information by e‑mail, and Selectman Martha Marchut asked that fact sheets and a sample insert be left at the Town Clerk’s office for residents to view.
