Chairman Alton Grover said the board received three bids and moved to award the town’s road-paving work to Lane Construction at a cost of $159,000.
The vote came during the May 11 meeting of the Town of Cushing selectmen, who voted 5-0 to accept Lane Construction’s estimate to pave Flintwood Lane, Salt Pond Road and complete work on Hathorne Point Road. Selectman Daniel Staples made the motion; Selectman Laurie Haynes seconded.
The other written estimates were $183,322 from All State Asphalt and $182,520 from Pike Industries. Chairman Alton Grover said he will contact Lane Construction to determine a start date and request that the work be completed no later than June 30, 2015.
No funding source or budget amendment was specified in the minutes; the board did not record further discussion of financing at this meeting.
The selectmen also passed over an agenda item about the copier and tabled discussion of a cost-of-living adjustment and vacation-time policy for future meetings.
