Selectmen review mail items, decline MRR membership and decline to vote on municipal candidates; resident inquiry on Broad Cove 'pancake' noted

During new business, Selectman Martha Marchut reviewed incoming mail and presented three items for consideration. The board decided not to join the Maine Resource Recovery Association at this time. Members also declined to cast votes for Maine Municipal Vice President and Executive Committee candidates because they did not know the nominees.
A resident letter asked the board to consider purchasing the property known locally as the 'pancake'—the parcel across from Broad Cove Market—for recreational use, clamming access and a small boat launch. Chairman Alton Grover reported the daughter of Mrs. Fales has purchased the property; the board suggested sending a follow-up letter to the resident who inquired.
Selectman Marchut also reported that the Municipal Review Committee will not continue with PERC after 2018 and intends to go with Fiberight; the board took note of that change as informational mail.
No members of the public spoke during the public-comment portion of the meeting.
