Jackson school board approves agreements, teacher pay update and Zoom renewal; moves three contracts to executive session

The Jackson Public School District board amended its agenda to move three contracts (agenda items e, f and g) from "information only" into executive session for discussion and removed another item from other business; the motion carried after a second with no nays.

The board approved what the administration described as a teacher salary scale updated to incorporate the 2026 state-funded teacher pay raise, which presenters said includes a $2,000 across-the-board increase for K–12 teachers funded by the state.

The board approved a property release of a Section 16 parcel between Jackson Public School District and Animal Center Incorporated (location given by staff as 995 South Frontage Road) after questions about the street address. Additionally, the board approved a master service agreement renewal with Howard Technology for Zoom video communications (term 07/08/2026–07/07/2027) at a total cost of $11,200; administration said two quotes were received and Howard offered the most favorable pricing.

Multiple consent items (finance, general and personnel) were moved and approved as a group after prior review. Near the meeting's close, trustees voted to enter executive session to discuss the items that had been moved earlier in the meeting.
