Council approves agenda and consent items; pool lease deferred

At the start of the March 9 meeting the Garrett Park Town Council unanimously approved the meeting agenda following a motion by Councilmember Chris Deutsch and a second from Councilmember Lisa Max. The council also approved the consent agenda — which included the February 9, 2026 meeting minutes and the mayoral appointments of Elin Quigley to the Arboretum Committee and Malcom Einhorn-Russell to the Archives Committee — after a motion by Councilmember John Stroud and a second from Councilmember Lisa Max.
Mayor Keller advised the council would defer action on executing a lease with the Garrett Park Swimming Pool Association, Inc. because two issues remain unresolved: insurance requirements and maintenance responsibilities. The mayor said staff may call a brief special meeting once those matters are resolved.
