The Town of Cushing Board of Selectmen approved routine business and reviewed maintenance updates at its June 8 meeting at the Cushing Community Center.
Finance and minutes: Selectman Laurie Haynes moved and Selectman Heidi Alley seconded to approve Warrant #21 and Warrant #22; the motion carried 3-0-0. The board also moved to accept the minutes of the May 26, 2015 meeting as written; that motion carried 3-0-0.
Banking: Alli Young, a Camden National Bank representative, presented a three‑year repurchase investment account proposal offering interest rates of 0.30% in Year 1, 0.45% in Year 2 and 0.55% in Year 3. Selectman Heidi Alley moved and Selectman Laurie Haynes seconded a motion to remain with Camden National Bank for the town’s banking needs; the motion carried 3-0-0.
Maintenance and equipment: Chairman Alton Grover reported the Cushing Community Center generator is repaired (a sensor issue) and that Power Products will forward a maintenance agreement for the board’s review. Grover also clarified that a $600 charge on the warrant is for a charger for a Thermal Imaging Camera the Fire Department purchased for about $6,000; the board discussed creating a spending policy that would require selectmen approval for purchases above a specified threshold.
Adjournment: Selectman Heidi Alley moved and Selectman Laurie Haynes seconded to adjourn at 7:03 P.M.; the motion carried 3-0-0.
