Council approves time-only extension for Department of Ecology grant tied to Schultz project

The Marysville City Council on July 6 approved Amendment No. 1 to grant agreement WQC 2023, Marysville PW 00143 with the Department of Ecology to extend the grant termination date through the end of January so construction and closeout tasks for the Schultz Elementary improvements can be completed.
Staff said the amendment is strictly a time extension that does not alter any grant terms or change the dollar amount. Councilmember Perkins moved to authorize the mayor to sign the amendment; Councilmember Richards seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.
Staff will complete the remaining construction closeout tasks and report to the Department of Ecology per the grant’s existing reporting requirements.
