The Houston City Council, meeting in closed session May 4 at Houston City Hall, approved the starting salary for Anthony Hagen as Park and Pool Director at Step 1, $41,995.20.
The closed session opened at 7:26 p.m. under Section 610.021 Subsection (3) (hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting). Alderwoman Walker moved to set Hagen’s starting salary at Step 1 ($41,995.20); Alderwoman Tottingham seconded, and the motion carried on a roll-call vote with five ayes: Alderman Stottlemyre; Alderwoman Scantlin; Alderwoman Walker; Alderwoman Tottingham; and Alderman Don Romines.
Following that vote, Alderwoman Scantlin moved, and Alderman Don Romines seconded, a change to the pay scale approved in December 2025 to specifically include Park and Pool Director Step 1 at $41,995.20. That motion also passed on a 5-0 roll-call vote with the same recorded ayes.
After the personnel actions, Alderman Don Romines moved to adjourn the closed session and return to open session; Alderwoman Walker seconded. The council adjourned the closed session at 7:54 p.m. on a unanimous roll-call vote. The minutes were attested by City Clerk Barbara Rodgers.
