Heritage Farm Commission finalizes logistics for May 8 '250 Freedom' encampment and reviews accounts

At the May 4, 2026 Heritage Farm Commission meeting, commissioners discussed logistics for the upcoming 250 Freedom encampment and reviewed account balances for the farm fund. The commission set a site coordination meeting for May 8 with Eric Travail to review event logistics and determine whether digging would be needed for the encampment.
Treasurer Cara Wraight reported account balances: $8,333.50 in the Rosie Fund and $113,032.67 in the Heritage Farm (BHF) account (the meeting minutes show a formatting error in the BHF amount; the figure above reflects the corrected numeric interpretation). Commissioners discussed vendor outreach (teas, chocolates, vegetables, pastries), elected P. Lynn to coordinate food donations and C. Wraight to coordinate transportation, and noted they still need to determine which parking lot to use. Commissioners also agreed to invite the Board of Selectmen to the June meeting to view the interior of the house and barn.
Procedure and approvals at the meeting: Rhea Klein moved to approve the April 6, 2026 minutes; Paula Lynn seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Rhea Klein later moved to adjourn and Leslie Shea seconded; the meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. Minutes were submitted by Board Clerk Rebekah Lyon.
Next steps recorded: site meeting with Eric Travail on May 8, vendor coordination and parking logistics to be finalized, and invitations to the Board of Selectmen for the June meeting.
