Nahant School Committee elects Beth Anderson chair, Ray Panessa vice chair and Meredith Thibault secretary

The Nahant School Committee completed its annual reorganization at the May 11 meeting, electing officers by voice vote.
A committee member nominated Beth Anderson to serve as chair; Heather moved to approve the nomination, it was seconded and the committee voted in favor. Ray Panessa was nominated and elected vice chair by a separate voice vote, and Meredith Thibault was nominated and elected secretary.
Committee members offered brief remarks thanking outgoing officers and welcoming the new leadership. Heather said she appreciated the committee’s patience during transitions and pledged to support the incoming chair as the committee proceeds into budget and implementation work.
The committee did not change bylaws or officer responsibilities during the meeting; members will proceed under the existing governance rules and follow up on agenda and staffing items at upcoming meetings.
