The Bolton Heritage Farm Commission finalized its regular 2020 meeting schedule Nov. 4 and discussed a suggestion to hold a ceremony for a state-donated white oak at the town green.
The commission listed its 2020 regular meeting dates as Jan. 6; Feb. 3; March 2; April 6; May 4; June 1 (6:00 P.M. at the Heritage Farm); July 6; Aug. 3; Sept. 14; Oct. 5; Nov. 2; and Dec. 7. Meetings are generally scheduled for 7:00 P.M. at the Notch Road Municipal Building unless otherwise noted.
Ann Maulucci asked whether any ceremony had taken place for the new white oak planted at the town green. Town Administrator Josh Kelly and building and grounds supervisor John Butrymovich told the commission that no ceremony had been held; they said the tree was a gift from the state of Connecticut and that the oak is an offspring of the Charter Oak. Chairman Arlene Fiano suggested the town consider a ceremony on Earth Day next year.
