The Bolton Heritage Farm Commission received updates Nov. 4 on maintenance work at the farm, current fund balances and plans for upcoming fundraising and community events.
John Butrymovich, the building and grounds supervisor, told commissioners crews have been mowing fields, clearing stone walls and cleaning up leaves; he added that roughly 12 glass panels in windows were replaced after the recent rain and wind storm.
Beth Harney reported financial totals for Commission-controlled accounts: $3,356 in the Rosie Fund held at People’s United Bank, and $57,646.53 in the Bolton Heritage Farm fund as verified at Town Hall. Harney’s account balances were recorded without further action at the meeting.
On planning and fundraising, Arlene Fiano said a preliminary review of the draft business plan is scheduled for Nov. 6 at 12:00 P.M., at which Fiano, Josh Kelly, Beth Harney and Sandy Pierog will meet to discuss next steps. The commission also confirmed participation in the Festival of Trees (theme: “Natural Beauty”) and discussed potential sale items for Sleigh Bells Ring and the Winter Faire after Beth Harney and Tracy Verrastro reviewed sample items.
The commission did not take formal votes on maintenance spending or event budgets at the Nov. 4 meeting; members said they will return with proposals informed by the business-plan review and vendor estimates.
