The Village of Bonduel Redevelopment Authority unanimously approved two Downtown Business Grant reimbursements during its March 10 meeting.
Municipal Operations Director Jesse Rankin presented Reimbursement Request #2 from Nikki Bougie of The Glenn for work at 113 N. Cecil St., asking for approximately $4,430 to cover flooring installed in the bathrooms and kitchen. Rankin said the request was accompanied by invoices and copies of checks verifying completion; with this disbursement the total reimbursement would reach $9,294.23 of the $10,000 grant. The RDA approved the request on a motion by Lisa Hughes, seconded by Brad Luepke; the motion carried unanimously.
Rankin also reported that Katie of Archer & Bliss Floral submitted a reimbursement request showing the final project cost for a sign and additional vinyl work was $1,710.19 rather than the $1,250 originally quoted. He said eligible reimbursement at 50 percent was $855.40, which is $230.40 more than the originally approved grant amount. The RDA approved that adjusted reimbursement on a motion by Hughes, seconded by Caitlin Richter; the motion carried unanimously.
Why it matters: The Downtown Business Grant program helps cover façade and signage improvements intended to support local businesses in Bonduel’s commercial district. Both approvals reimburse applicants for completed work supported by invoices, and they bring the program closer to fully disbursing awarded funds.
What happens next: The minutes record the approvals; individual vote tallies were not recorded in the transcript. Any remaining program funds and future applications will be considered at subsequent RDA meetings.
