Goshen board approves fire promotions, accepts firefighter resignation and ratifies five police hires

Fire Chief (speaker 5) asked the board to approve promotions to Private 1st Class effective 07/11/2026 for Roy Thomas, Jordan Yoder, Connor Cade, Morgan Dyer and Christian Roman. The board moved and unanimously approved the promotions. After the vote, each promoted firefighter recited the oath of office and received congratulations from board members.
The Fire Chief also presented the resignation of firefighter paramedic Joshua Hite, which the board accepted effective 07/10/2026. The chief thanked Hite for three years of service to the department.
On police personnel, staff presented conditional offers of employment that the board ratified. The board approved hiring Gavin Gallardo, Tyler Hague, Braden Hinkle, Timothy Hunter and Victor Reyes as probationary police officers retroactive to 07/06/2026; those candidates had completed the hiring process and received pension-board approvals, city staff said. Each new officer was sworn in during the meeting.
All motions were adopted unanimously.
