Council approves $582,294.40 supplemental appropriation for Old Farms Road project

Town Engineer Larry Baril told the Council the Old Farms Road North/South LOTCIP project expended its original appropriation and that additional funds are needed to complete planting, install right‑of‑way monumentation and finish an as‑built survey. Baril described monuments as small concrete tangent/corner markers and said bench locations were proposed near Thompson Road and the Scoville Road trail.
Because LOTCIP guidance requires funds allocated for the project to be spent on that project, Baril explained the supplemental appropriation request of $582,294.40 to cover the remaining work. On motion by Mrs. Barthel, seconded by Mr. Weber, Council recommended the Board of Finance increase revenues (LOTCIP revenue and interest income) and appropriate $582,294.40 to the OFR N/S LOTCIP account. The motion passed unanimously.
