Avon Council extends elderly tax relief and raises income limit for two years

He recommended increasing the income limit from $71,000 to $76,500 and extending the program for two additional grand‑list years (2025 and 2026).
On a motion by Mrs. Bratton, seconded by Ms. Ausiello, the Council approved continuing Town Council Policy No. 17 (Elderly Tax Relief Program) for two years and increasing the income limit as recommended. The motion passed unanimously.
Councilors said the adjustment would recapture residents who had recently fallen out of the program and noted staff estimates responding to demographic shifts.
