At the July 8 meeting the Greendale City Council approved a $1,500 donation to the local United Way after Karen Snyder, United Way director, outlined programs including early childhood work and a free VITA tax-prep site that returned more than $114,000 to the local community.
Shane delivered the police monthly report: 393 calls for service in June (2,400 year to date), 4 traffic citations in June (88 YTD), 14 arrests in June (67 YTD), 16 crash reports (66 YTD) and 8,631 miles patrolled for the month.
Ryan of Greendale Main Street reported the Splash Bash drew over 100 swimmers, promoted a bike-and-pedestrian plan via on-site surveys, announced a Tanner's Creek Paddle event Aug. 8 and said a grant application for the Jones Building is pending with expected news by the end of the week.
During audience comment, Laura Hobson of the local paper described staffing changes and a shift to expanded digital coverage at Cherry Road. The council approved adjournment at meeting close.
