Commissioners asked for a prioritized list of county buildings, written documentation showing intended emergency use (for example, as a shelter or backup site), and two price options (a full-build generator and a smaller backup system). The board's consensus was to ask for quotes and better documentation before committing capital funds.
The chair called a motion to rescind or temporarily pull the generator from the budget pending study; the board voted and the chair announced the motion passed unanimously. Staff said they will return with a prioritized facilities list, sizing guidance and vendor quotes so the board can reconsider a capital outlay with clear documentation.
