Wildomar launches SeeClickFix, highlights Bundy Canyon repaving and other CIP progress

The Wildomar Public Works and Engineering Department told the City Council that maintenance crews completed significant work this quarter, launched a new SeeClickFix service request portal on June 1 and are advancing current capital projects including the Bundy Canyon rehabilitation and the Palomar/Cemetery improvement closeout.
Public Works Director Jason Farrick described staffing and program changes that shifted more in‑house work to city crews, enabling the department to repave sections (including Bundy Canyon), repair posts on Grand Avenue after a vehicle collision, perform graffiti abatement, and increase permanent pavement repairs rather than temporary patches. Farrick said the SeeClickFix app went live June 1 and received 65 requests in the month: 28 coded as code enforcement and 37 as public‑works requests. He explained the app accepts location, photo uploads and allows residents to create accounts or submit anonymously.
Farrick also reviewed CIP items: Palomar/Cemetery work was substantially complete with only punch‑list items remaining and staff expects to bring contract closeout and project acceptance to council this summer. The Bundy Canyon/Harvest Way signal project is waiting on signal poles; crews completed utility and conduit work and installed new video detection. He noted a Caltrans permit was received for paving under the freeway and that the nightwork is scheduled "next Tuesday night, next Wednesday night, 9PM to 5AM" for work under the on‑ and off‑ramps.
Council members raised operational questions about SeeClickFix address validation, traffic warrants for stop signs, and whether road improvements would precede occupancy for nearby residential projects; staff said they would review the SeeClickFix input validation and pursue traffic warrant studies as requested.
What residents told the council during public comment included community praise for the public works crew, concerns about traffic and development impacts, and requests for additional city support for community events. Staff said project maps and updates are hosted on the city website for residents to track work.
