Superintendent Rick Ollie: District completes strategic-planning input; board to set goals

Rick Ollie, superintendent of the Crosby-Ironton Public School District, said the district has completed community input sessions for its strategic plan and will forward a summary to the school board for goal-setting.

“We have completed all of our strategic planning input sessions across the community,” Ollie said, adding, “We had 2 in person sessions, and then Monday night this week, we did a virtual session via Zoom.” He thanked parents and community members "for taking time to give your input, guidance, and suggestions" as the district updates its plan for the next two, three and four years.

Ollie said the next step is to provide the school board with a summary of the community, staff and student sessions and the results of the survey submitted by participants. He said board members will review that material and "will be forming new goals and objectives for finance, facility, student achievement, student and staff support, and communication outreach marketing and recruitment."

The message did not include dates for the board review or formal deadlines for completing the new strategic plan. Ollie closed by thanking the Crosby-Ironton community for participating and encouraging residents to "stay engaged, stay involved" as the district moves forward.

The district did not announce any immediate policy changes or formal actions in the message; the school board is the next body expected to review and act on the summary and proposed goals.
