Ogdensburg council adopts county hazard-mitigation plan and accepts $14,266 body‑worn camera grant

The Borough of Ogdensburg Mayor and Council on Sept. 27 approved a consent agenda that included adopting the 2021 Sussex County Hazard Mitigation Plan update and accepting a $14,266 state grant to purchase body‑worn cameras for uniformed patrol officers.
By adopting Resolution 64‑2021 the borough committed to use the county hazard mitigation plan to guide pre‑ and post‑disaster actions, to coordinate mitigation strategies with other programs and to provide plan updates in conjunction with Sussex County no less than every five years. The resolution frames mitigation planning as an ongoing component of municipal operations.
The council also approved Resolution 65‑2021 to authorize discharge of a home‑improvement mortgage on 319 Main Street (Block 3.07, Lot 8) after the loan of $18,935 was paid in full and endorsed by Sunnyside Title Agency, LLC.
Resolution 66‑2021 accepted an award from the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety (Award No. 21‑BWC‑332) in the amount of $14,266 to support implementation of body‑worn cameras for the borough police department. Resolution 67‑2021 requests insertion of that $14,266 into the borough’s 2021 budget as miscellaneous revenue and a corresponding appropriation under N.J.S.A. 40A:4‑87.
The consent agenda also included ministerial items and notices, including acceptance of a Sussex County resurfacing project start‑up notice and approval of a special‑event catering permit for the Ogdensburg Fire Department family fun day.
