At its June 28 meeting the Ogdensburg Borough Council approved several consent items and adopted an addendum resolution to purchase police equipment.
The council approved Resolution 44-2021 to insert $5,950.34 into the 2021 budget to reflect a Clean Communities grant. It also authorized the mayor and clerk to submit and, if awarded, execute grant contracts with the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the Plant Street Improvements Phase II (Resolution 49-2021) and Cork Hill Road Improvements Phase I (Resolution 50-2021).
Councilman Nardini moved and Councilman DeMeo seconded Resolution 51-2021 to purchase one used single-partition cage for a Ford police utility vehicle from Jefferson Township for $200. The motion passed on roll call with Yeas: Cowdrick, DeMeo, Nardini, Nasisi and Slater; Alvarez was absent.
CFO Mike Marceau briefed the council on the borough’s American Rescue Plan funds, reporting a local allocation of $236,027.90, typically distributed in two equal installments (about $118,013.70 each); he said he has applied to the state and is awaiting guidance on eligible uses and timing.
On the consent agenda vote, the minutes from June 15, 2021 were approved with two abstentions noted for that single item (Councilman DeMeo and Councilman Nasisi). No other nays were recorded on the consent items.
No public comments were offered during the public session, and the council later entered executive session on attorney-client and pending litigation matters before returning and approving payment vouchers. The meeting adjourned at 8:35 p.m.
