Sarah, program staff, corrected the packet and asked the board to approve distribution of eight child safety seats (four convertible and four combination) to reach families without insurance coverage. She said the seat funding derives from fines collected for unsafe transportation of children and that 59 seats have been distributed through partner programs so far; the board approved the request.
Separately, staff asked to renew a $20,000 contract with a families coordinator (Nicole Grama) to continue coordinating the local collaborative and to help offset drug court budget pressures. Commissioners asked about the collaborative's funding; staff explained it is primarily state money allocated through time-study processes and juvenile mental-health screening funds. The board approved the contract, retroactive to July 1.
Finally, the board approved an initial FY27 treatment court cooperative agreement with the state judicial branch for $145,100, with staff noting additional state grant dollars are expected and an amendment will be brought when those funds are available.
