At the April 13 Warren County JCPC meeting, guest Katherine Johnson of the Gladys Rogers Foundation told members that an estimated 15% of disconnected youth aged 11–16 and 16–18 are hidden within the community and described a 'Fostering the Future' grant opportunity to fund programs that engage these youths.
Kimberli Coley suggested JCPC representation at the Blue Bird Festival on April 25 to increase program visibility and connect with families and potential volunteers. The council also discussed coordination with local events and social media as avenues to raise awareness of JCPC programs.
Members were provided contact and program information for follow-up; the meeting packet included foundation and program materials for members to review.
