Warren County JCPC unanimously appoints three members to two-year terms

At its April 13, 2026 meeting, the Warren County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council unanimously approved appointments for Howard Epps, Janet Perkins and Kanika Turrentine Weeks to two-year terms on the council. The nominations were moved and seconded from the floor and carried by unanimous vote.
The council reviewed Statement of Interest forms for each applicant before taking action. Marion Richards moved the nomination of Howard Epps; Marie Chapman seconded the motion. Marie Chapman moved the nomination of Janet Perkins; Frankie Crawford seconded. Rev. Willie Boyd moved the nomination of Kanika Turrentine Weeks; Frankie Crawford seconded. Each nomination was carried by unanimous vote. The motions and outcomes were recorded in the meeting minutes.
Chair Marion Richards also requested an update to the JCPC bylaws and said members would receive the proposed revisions for review. A Zoom meeting will be scheduled to discuss bylaw updates ahead of the next JCPC meeting.
No formal objections or recorded dissents were noted in the minutes. The council adjourned at 1:00 p.m. and the next meeting was scheduled for Monday, May 11, 2026.
