Rafael de Guzman, owner of 83 Surfside, said the proposed pole location appeared very close to the property line and asked that National Grid ensure the new pole would not block his parking area or interfere with access. A National Grid representative (introduced during the meeting as Andrew Allen) said the pole would be installed in the public way and that crews would mark the proposed location on the pavement; he agreed to request that crews place the pole "more towards 85" to reduce impacts on 83’s parking. National Grid also said work is typically scheduled a few weeks after petition approval, weather permitting.
Following the hearing, a board member moved to approve National Grid plan number 31238498 and the board voted in favor. The board asked staff to include a note requesting clear field markings of the installation site and to communicate the timing to neighbors when known.
