Principal Planner Jim Fisk said applicant Ken Kolberg requests roughly $9,000 in city matching funds toward an estimated $12,000 repainting and caulking project; the applicant has stated the ground-floor mural will not be painted over. Fisk recommended council authorize an award amount and a standard form agreement to be approved by the city attorney rather than approve a completed contract at this meeting.
Council members had no objection to forwarding the item. "I would move forward," Chair Jay Rose Pepe said. Staff said they could prepare a resolution granting the award and a form agreement for the next Tuesday council meeting.
The committee did not take a final award vote; members asked why only one application had been received and staff said the city notified 15 downtown property owners, with limited responses so far.
