The council then approved the consent agenda — minutes for May 2 and May 23, authorization to pay bills, and the treasurer's report — on a motion by Honeywell and seconded by Hursey (roll call: all ayes).
Council member Karen Schlueter moved, and Council member Chris Evans seconded, approval of Change Order #1 with Precision Concrete Services to realign a trail. The change order is for $7,678.00; the motion passed by unanimous roll call.
On an ensuing motion by Council member Pat Honeywell, seconded by Council member Jackie Hursey, the council adopted Resolution No. 6-23 expressing support for a Workforce Housing Tax Credit application. The resolution passed by roll call vote with all members voting in favor.
Council member Rick Kiesel moved, and Council member Karen Schlueter seconded, approval of a quote from Tonkawater to supply new valves for a water repair project in the amount of $4,200.00. The motion carried on a roll call vote (all ayes).
The council also voted to designate the Avoca Journal Herald as the city's official newspaper after a motion by Honeywell and a second from Hursey; roll call was unanimous.
No votes failed or were tabled during the meeting. The meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
