Council approves $15,000 allocation for 4th of July parade security

Parks Director Lina Hicks told council the resolution would allocate $8,500 for barriers lining the parade route, $2,500 for overtime to compensate six additional city staff, and $4,000 to the Chamber to hire security and event staff. Hicks said the funds had previously been authorized by council and the resolution allocates how those funds will be spent.
A council member moved to approve Resolution No. 1881; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote with no recorded roll call. The mayor declared the resolution passed.
