Campton resident asks planning board to release long-suspended subdivision

Peter Mespelli told the Town of Campton Planning Board on July 1 that he is seeking a letter from the board to release a subdivision he voluntarily suspended in the early 1990s.
Mespelli said he "has since satisfied the requirements of the bond and requires a letter from the planning board releasing the lots," but noted that deeds for the subdivision were never created, leaving at least one lot without road frontage and without language guaranteeing an easement. Because of those title and frontage issues, board members said they needed legal guidance before issuing a release.
The board asked staff to consult with town counsel and agreed to take up the request again at its next meeting on July 8, 2025. No formal motion releasing the subdivision was made at the July 1 meeting.
