The Chesterfield Economic Development Committee on June 11 reviewed several routine items including grant updates, event planning and a community-service proposal from the Lions Club.
Members reported that the Chesterfield Revitalization Group is still awaiting notification on a grant application. The committee discussed an Artisan Fair planned for November at the Farmers Market and noted a new artisan who builds birdhouses.
Jim Allen summarized research on the AARP Community Challenge Grant but the committee recorded that no action may be taken on that grant until January 1, 2027. The Lions Club proposed a community clean-up that would require volunteers to sign a town volunteer form; committee members also discussed a possible flea market at the school or a mapped list of participating sites.
The meeting minutes for May 14, 2026 were approved; no public comments were recorded. Committee members also confirmed logistics for the next meeting: the secretary will be out of town for June 25, so Ron Rzasa will take notes and send the agenda to the secretary on June 20 for posting and distribution.
