The Chesterfield Economic Development Committee agreed on June 11 to provide logistical support for the CHS 250th "Return to 1776" celebration scheduled for Sunday, July 12 at 4 p.m.
Committee members assigned specific tasks: Ron Rzasa and guest Jeff Scott will provide four tents for booths; Fran Shippee said she would bring three additional tables the morning of the event; the committee will chalk handicap parking spaces and install signs; volunteers will use reflector jackets for parking and crowd control. Jeff Scott committed two trash cans and two 5-gallon water containers. Gerry Lins indicated he may volunteer to play the role of a loyalist at the Town Hall meeting portion of the event.
The EDC also agreed to place a banner in front of Town Hall two weeks before the event (June 28). No formal vote was required; members assigned responsibilities by consensus.
The event is scheduled for July 12 at 4 p.m.; the next EDC meeting is June 25 at 6 p.m. at Town Offices.
