At the June 22 Candia Board of Selectmen meeting Police Chief Shevlin presented Certificates of Accommodation recognizing Officers Cory Denny and Colby Norris for their response on April 4, 2026, during a mutual‑aid incident in Raymond in which officers and civilians were fired upon. The board and the public thanked the officers for their service.
Chair Brien Brock said the town has sent reminders but some dog licenses remain outstanding; the Police Department will step in to collect overdue licensing fees.
Fire Chief Michael Kelley described a proposal to reallocate a surplus Ford Explorer from the police department to serve as a Fire Department command vehicle, noting Candia is the only nearby town without a command vehicle. Board members discussed earlier opposition to adding another vehicle; the transcript records discussion but no formal motion or vote on the reallocation.
The board signed a pole license for the coop. Administrative Assistant Linda Chandonnet asked whether the board could vote on the best decorated parade float during the town’s 250th celebration; Chair Brien Brock agreed. The board scheduled its next meeting for Monday, July 13 at 6:30 p.m. and adjourned at 7:44 p.m.
Recording Secretary Linda Chandonnet signed the meeting minutes.
