The Hobart Redevelopment Commission on March 16 approved several project payments and a contract change order, as staff reported ongoing progress and budget status for infrastructure projects.
Project manager (S3) described Change Order No. 9 for the Colorado tracking project as necessary because Nipsco relocated a service pole requiring a directional bore to reach an electrical junction; the cost for the change order was reported as $6,688.02. S3 said the overall project is approximately $64,000 under budget even after anticipated adjustments; commissioners moved and approved the change order by voice vote.
Staff also presented Payment 1 for the recently completed roundabout work and recommended authorizing $253,350 to the contractor for completed items, with a small punch list remaining. The commission moved, seconded and approved the payment.
On finance matters, staff presented the register of claims and invoices totaling $280,409.46, including supplemental funding for pre-filter station improvements, engineering support, and ALTA survey follow-up for Greenwood Center parcel purchases. Commissioners moved and approved the register by voice vote. The board also approved bond requisition items tied to the lease-rental bonds (requisition 76 and requisition 77), authorizing the RDC’s share of those payments as presented.
Why it matters: These actions advance multiple infrastructure projects the RDC is funding or supporting; staff framed the approvals as consistent with contracts and within projected budgets.
The meeting record did not include detailed roll-call tallies for the financial votes; all actions passed by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
