At the July 8 meeting the Atlantic Comm School District board took the following formal actions:
Athletic training coverage: The board approved additional athletic-training coverage to include a second weekly office day (to support summer athletes and reduce out-of-pocket expenses). The motion was made and approved by roll call (transcript includes member vote names).
HVAC replacement at Washington: The board approved replacing a single HVAC unit in the newer wing (2nd- and 3rd-grade wing) so that renovations later would not require redundant replacement. Motion passed by roll-call vote.
8th-grade participation in high-school athletics: The board adopted a case-by-case policy (see separate article) with requirements that the varsity head coach initiate a meeting and that all parties agree before moving an 8th grader to high-school competition. The board approved the motion with one member recorded as voting no.
Building-trades practice house sale: The board authorized initiating the sale of the building-trades practice house and directed staff to return with recommended listing language and advertising options; the motion passed by roll call.
Votes and roll-call names are recorded in the meeting transcript; the board directed staff to return with implementation details where appropriate.
