- Approve construction change order No. 2 for the landfill project adding approximately 169,000 cubic yards of excavation at a cost of $518,821.25; engineer said total contracted amount is now just under $3.1 million and that contingency remains for unknowns.
- Authorize the chair to sign a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant contract and approve the required local match.
- Authorize advertising and schedule a first reading (July 28) and second reading/possible adoption (Aug. 11) for a proposed county gross receipts (sales) tax ordinance; staff advised the commission that citizens would need petitions with signatures from at least 5% of voters (estimated at about 1,330) to force a referendum, and that the county lacks clear authority to automatically refer the measure.
- Approve routine administrative items including minutes of June 30, claims, HR report, a travel request and a lottery permit for a local organization.
