The Lapeer County Committee of the Whole recommended adoption of the 2026–2031 Lapeer County Parks and Recreation Plan and authorized the chairman or his designee to sign required adoption documents.
Commissioner Bryan Zender moved to adopt the plan and Commissioner Brad Haggadone supported the motion. The staff report and meeting materials state the county undertook public outreach, provided a 30-day public review period and held a public hearing on March 12, 2026 in the Commission Chambers.
On roll call the motion to adopt the plan carried with six ayes and one absence. The resolution states the plan will serve as a guideline for improving recreation and enhancing natural resource conservation across Lapeer County for the five-year period.
The Committee's action authorizes whatever additional signature and submittal steps are necessary for adoption under Department of Natural Resources guidance.
