The School City of Mishawaka Board of School Trustees on July 8 approved a personnel report that recommends multiple certified and classified hires, extra-duty assignments, summer-school appointments and the appointment of Amanda Stevens as the next principal of Beager Elementary School.
Board presenters highlighted one retirement, longtime educator Rob Bach, and thanked him for service. Administration recommended the personnel report dated 07/08/2026 for approval; a trustee moved, the motion was seconded, and the board approved the report by voice vote.
Amanda Stevens, whom the administration recommended to succeed outgoing principal Courtney Kozick, addressed the board after her nomination. "I'm truly honored and grateful," Stevens said, adding that she is "super excited to get started next week" and credited Kozick as a mentor.
Human-resources presenter Mr. Lebon told trustees the personnel slate includes eight certified and four classified appointments along with extra-duty assignments and the third round of summer-school programming. The board then approved the individual employments listed in the administrative content by voice vote.
The board also voted under the agenda to decline a recommended teacher-contract cancellation, conducting that action pursuant to Indiana Code IC 20-28-7.5-3; the motion to decline cancellation carried.
The board's action leaves the recommended hires and the incoming principal appointment in place; administration said the official personnel report will be included in the district record.
