Council adopts engineer reports and levies for multiple assessment districts for FY 2026'27

The City Council on July 9 adopted engineer reports and ordered the levy and collection of assessments for two district actions serving maintenance functions across Palm Desert.
Public Works Project Manager Maria Murillo presented the engineer's report for Benefit Assessment District No. 1, which funds maintenance of the Section 29 stormwater retention basin and related drainage infrastructure; the council adopted the resolutions ordering the levy and collection of assessments for FY 2026'27 by a 5-0 vote.
Murillo also presented the engineer's report for the Consolidated Palm Desert Landscape and Lighting District No. 1, which funds landscaping, street lighting and related improvements across 33 benefit zones; the council adopted the resolutions to approve the assessments and levies for FY 2026'27 by a 5-0 vote.
Staff said the assessments fund routine maintenance and infrastructure operations and did not propose any boundary changes or service reductions during the hearings.
