Byron Town Council voted March 11 to change the signature designation on the town’s compliance permit from "Building Inspector" to "Zoning Administrator." The council said the change better reflects Planning and Zoning oversight when building permits are sought.
Councilwoman Karma Sanders proposed the change and moved to amend the form wording. Planning and Zoning Administrator Richard Hawley read the relevant portion of the town code during the discussion. Councilman Brandon Hessenthaler seconded the motion, and the council voted unanimously to adopt the change. Council members said additional permit-form revisions and a review of livestock-permit fees will be discussed at the April work meeting.
The change applies to the permit signature line; the council did not adopt broader code amendments at this meeting and scheduled follow-up work for April.
