Byron Town Council approved a WYDOT Streets Plan Proposal at its March 11 meeting and discussed pursuing an Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) grant to cover the local match for a WYDOT Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant.
Kristin Sanders, the town clerk/treasurer, summarized a WYDOT Streets Plan Proposal meeting held March 4 and outlined potential benefits for the town. Planning and Zoning Committee member Dan Bodtke recommended that the council approve the proposal. Councilwoman Karma Sanders moved to approve the WYDOT plan and Councilman Mikey Brightly seconded; the motion passed with all present voting in favor.
Mayor Allan Clark and Kristin Sanders also discussed applying for an IIJA infrastructure grant to help fund the WYDOT TAP-match requirement. The council did not set a final timeline for the grant application during the meeting but instructed staff to continue pursuing the matter and scheduled related budget planning for later work sessions.
The council did not record objections or amendments; staff will follow up with grant application steps and record-keeping to meet any match deadlines.
