Byron Town Council voted unanimously March 11 to contribute $1,000 to the Cowley Recreation Department to help buy sporting equipment for children who play in Byron.
Steph Ames submitted the request to the council by email asking the town to donate funds to benefit Byron youth. Councilwoman Karma Sanders moved to approve the contribution; Councilman Brandon Hessenthaler seconded and the motion passed with all members present voting in favor.
The council did not attach conditions to the donation and recorded no dissent. The contribution was processed as part of routine town business during the meeting at Byron Town Hall.
Next steps: the council did not schedule further action; the donation will be handled through the town’s normal disbursement process.
