Byron council discusses using millings pile to improve unpaved roads; rough quote cited

Mayor Allan Clark told the council the town owns a pile of road millings left from prior road replacement and proposed using those millings to improve Byron's unpaved roads. He and members discussed candidate locations, including Road 6.
Richard Hawley, speaking from the audience, suggested that IEC might cover costs if Road 6 is selected. Mayor Clark said he spoke with a contractor (Ty Sammons) who gave a rough quote of about $9 per linear foot for the work. The council favored the idea but took no formal vote or appropriation at the Jan. 14 meeting.
Any costs, formal contracts, start dates and final road selections remain to be determined. The council will need to decide whether to pursue IEC support, solicit contractor bids, and schedule actual work in a future meeting.
