Mayor Allan Clark told the council that two light poles for the Main Street Light Project have been ordered and that the town will hold a grant meeting on Thursday, Jan. 16, to discuss next steps and implementation details.
Clark also said a TCT representative contacted the town in December seeking local support for expanding the fiber network across the county; Byron submitted a letter of support in December. No grant amounts, funding sources or timelines were given in the minutes; the council scheduled the Jan. 16 meeting to develop the next steps for the lighting project and to coordinate any grant-related tasks.
The council did not take a formal financing vote at this meeting. Future work items include documenting grant funding sources, clarifying who will manage procurement and confirming installation timelines at the Jan. 16 meeting.
