Council hears update on fiber-optic restoration; city to review directional-drilling communications and precautions

The director of public service said staff received notice that restoration in the referenced location (Twinsburg) was complete and that the city will do a final inspection. The director said the administration is preparing improved communications for residents about underground utility work and is reviewing directional‑drilling practices to consider precautionary measures.
"We got notice today that they have completed the work there. The restoration should be completed. So we need to do a final inspection on that," the director said. On directional drilling, staff said, "We're still looking into that to see what we can do to...rest assure the residents that it is safe and they're communicated properly when they do come to town."
Public-service leadership told council there are no pending local projects that require a pause but said better pre-work communication and inspection follow-up will be prioritized.
