Buckingham County School Board approves personnel agenda, consent items and July 4 holiday; members thank departing Dr. Browning

The Buckingham County School Board resumed its open session and certified that only matters identified for discussion in the executive session were considered, the board announced at the start of the meeting.

Committee member (Speaker 2) moved to approve the personnel agenda "as presented," and the board voted to approve the personnel agenda unanimously, the chair said. The board then adopted the meeting agenda and approved the consent agenda without opposition.

Under other board business, members approved observance of July 4 as a holiday for the district’s 12‑month employees. Chair (Speaker 1) confirmed the holiday applies to 12‑month staff before members moved and seconded the item; the motion carried unanimously.

Committee member (Speaker 3) publicly thanked Dr. Browning for her years of service during a brief farewell, saying, "I would like to thank doctor Browning for the time that she's been here and the service that she's given. And, wish you well in your new endeavors." Chair (Speaker 1) added, "Congratulations to doctor Browning." The remarks concluded the district’s acknowledgements for the meeting.
